Downtown Businesses
- 143 E. 14 Mile; The Loc@l has received approval from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for a social district license.
- 84 W. 14 Mile has been leased to an experienced chef who is planning a new restaurant – Vigilante Kitchen – for the site
- 150 N. Main; (PNC property) The developers have completed a Market Survey and will be bringing the Planned Unit Development proposal back to Council for consideration.
- 172 E. 14 Mile (Burger King property); the Planning Commission approved a revision to the approved site plan which allows for a phased approach to development. Completing the first floor and grounds as the original approved plan and adding the second and third floors over time.
- 220 S. Main; House of BBQ; appeared before Planning Commission regarding site plan diversions related to the use of the smoker. The restaurant received approval to use their propane start smoker at the front of the property line two days a week with an additional flex day as needed.
- 215 S. Main; Michael’s Wine Shop, continues prepping for exterior painting following the install of the new awning
- 116 W. 14 Mile; Three Cats Cafe, the install of the new parking lot is complete
- 139 W. 14 Mile; Mangiamo has unfortunately closed the business.
- Water To Go is moving from their location at 53 E. 14 Mile to a new Clawson location at 620 W.14 Mile in the Bywood Square shopping plaza

Main Street
- Presentation acknowledging the achievement by the Clawson DDA of being awarded accreditation as a National Main Street Community was done before Council on October 1.
- Noticing on the Downtown Master Plan was approved by City Council on October 1. Noticing to neighboring communities is part of the process for master plan changes & updates.
- Final payment has been made by the DDA to Giffels Webster on the Master Plan Update and the reimbursement request for the Tech Visit has been sent to Main Street
Events
- October saw the return of two popular downtown events – Trick or Treasure and the Great Pubkin Crawl. We enjoyed great weather and great turnout for both events. Thank you to everyone that costumed up and came downtown to play!
- Shop Small Saturday is Saturday, November 30. The Clawson DDA and Oakland County are offering incentives to highlight and show support to small, independent businesses. Shopping local keeps our community strong!
- Oakland County has announced the return of the Local Gems Sweepstakes. Participants enter by visiting multiple small businesses within the county, taking selfies and submitting the photos online atcom/ShopSmall.
- Each visit to a different business increases the chances of winning, with three cash prizes – $1000, $500 & $250 – up for grabs provided by Genisys Credit Union.
