Downtown Businesses
- 14 E. 14 Mile (former Avery Hasler location); improvements continue on the site plan. Most noticeably on the exterior is the removal of the mansard roof
- 76 W. 14 Mile (former Lim’s Palace) interior renovations continue for the opening of the PanDeMonium Filipino restaurant as well as the completed resurfacing of their adjacent alleyway.
- 143 E. 14 Mile; The Loc@l has opened for business and is awaiting approval from the Michigan Liquor Control Commission for a social district license.
- 150 N. Main; (PNC property) The developers have completed a Market Survey and will be bringing the Planned Unit Development proposal back to Council for consideration.
- 172 E. 14 Mile (Burger King property); the Planning Commission has approved a revision to the site plan which allows for a phased approach to development. Completing the first floor and grounds as the original approved plan and adding the second and third floors over time.
- 220 S. Main; House of BBQ; appeared before Planning Commission regarding site plan diversions related to the use of the smoker. The restaurant received approval to use their propane start smoker at the front of the property line two days a week with an additional flex day as needed.
- 215 S. Main; Michael’s Wine Shop, prepping for exterior painting following the install of the new awning
- 116 W. 14 Mile; Three Cats Cafe, completed the install of the new parking lot.
- 139 W. 14 Mile is available for lease as Mangiamo has closed the business.

Main Street
- Presentation acknowledging the achievement by the Clawson DDA of being awarded accreditation as a National Main Street Community will be done before Council on October 1.
- Approval of noticing on the Downtown Master Plan is scheduled before City Council on October 1. Noticing to neighboring communities is part of the process for master plan changes & updates.

Streetscape News
- Checkerboard tables, made possible through grant funds from the Clawson Community Foundation , are now in place on S. Main furthering our goal of making the downtown a friendly place for all ages.
Checkers are in baskets on the table base. Chess pieces need to be brought by those wishing to play that game. - Thank you to volunteers Kathy Phillips and Carol McLean for removing the summer plantings in the planters and getting us Fall ready with colorful mums.
