We are in constant contact with sources at the Small Business Administration (SBA), MIchigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), Michigan Works (MI Works), and County divisions of Economic Development and Health to keep you notified of new developments.

What we will not do is send information before its time. We will not fill your inbox with constant ‘this might be coming down the pike’ stories.

What we will do is send information when it is actionable – something factual with a plan where you may apply and the steps on how to apply for assistance. That we will send ASAP

We sent information earlier on SBA loans and how to apply

  • Disaster Relief SBA loans
    • these are reimbursable loans for businesses that can weather the storm and then apply for costs incurred

While we already have your attention though we will mention there is a program that will be more of an assistance to many of the Downtown Clawson businesses – a newly announced program with  $20 million equally divided between two segments.

  • Michigan Small Business Relief Program; Grants
    • funds to be used for working capital including rent, mortgage, payroll for businesses with less than 50 employess
  • MIchigan Small Business Relief Program; Loans
    • low interest loans for day to day operation for businesses with less than 100 employees

Details on the above program are not expected before April 1st!  We will get you the details and application information when available.

In the meantime to keep up to date on all materials related to the Covid virus bookmark the Oakland County site which they keep updated as news comes in.

The above site also has information for employers on the Work Share program as an alternative to layoffs. Employees will find directions for online application to unemployment benefits. (MI Works recommends online application at night or early in the morning)

There is information too from MI Works on employment opportunities. Kroger, Meijer and Amazon are all hiring.

Please let us know where we can be of assistance and we will do our absolute best to keep you in the know.
