From our friends at the Small Business Association of Michigan (SBAM):
Updated Gatherings and Face Mask Order
Effective 9am May 15, 2021
The Gatherings and Face Mask Order has been officially updated. Earlier today, this order was described as matching up with the new CDC guidelines. That is only partly true. It does in fact eliminate the indoor mask requirement for vaccinated individuals, but it maintains all the same capacity and social distancing requirements. The CDC recommended eliminating social distancing for vaccinated people
The indoor face mask requirement requires a “good faith effort to enforce, which could be limited to having signs stating the requirements.”
This order is short term in that it expires at the end of May 2021. There is no mention of the 7/1/21 date that the Governor’s press release described as the end of the face mask requirement for all people, including those not vaccinated.
